RAF base bids for training centre
Campaigners are meeting to try to ensure RAF Cosford is given a flying start in its bid to become a leading national centre for defence training.

The project, which would be delivered through a public/private partnership, is valued at 18bn over 25 years.

The Cosford Working Group is made up of stakeholders who want to make sure the base is firmly in the running for the contract.

Lets Fly Cosford will be launced on Friday at Shropshire's RAF Museum.

Members of the working group say there are "compelling reasons" why Cosford should be chosen over a rival site at St Athan, in Wales.
