Doherty has been released from police bail |
Singer Pete Doherty will face no further action after being arrested following a Babyshambles gig in October, police have said. Doherty was detained after a concert at Shrewsbury Music Hall on 1 October.
He has now been released from police bail, West Mercia Police confirmed on Wednesday afternoon.
Det Sgt Jason Wells said: "A man arrested in Shrewsbury on October 1 on suspicion of a drugs offence will not be prosecuted."
Doherty protested his innocence on 2 October following his release from Telford police station after questioning.
He told reporters that police had mistaken an implant aimed at keeping him off drugs for "hard stuff".
Speaking in the police station's car park, the singer said: "It's just some sort of mistake, that's all.
"When they raided the buses they expected to find drugs everywhere, but it's not like that."
