A new community strategy is being drawn up for North Shropshire and the views of local people are being sought. The district council has to consult before it finalises the document and one of the main items for discussion is the way young people are cared for.
The council is considering appointing a young persons champion and improving its provision of childcare.
It wants to keep more children in school and provide alternatives to anti-social behaviour.
At the same time, the council wants to tackle crime such as vandalism and graffiti.
It needs to balance its budgets and decide what are its greatest priorities and is seeking the views of local people.
The community strategy cannot be completed until the public have been consulted.
