An NHS anti-fraud team said allegations had been made against an individual, but refused to comment further.

In a statement, the team said such accusations were taken very seriously and investigated thoroughly.

The hospital trust said it was co-operating fully with the inquiry, but would not elaborate on the nature of the investigation.
