Eight-week closure on main road
A stretch of one of Shropshire's main roads is set to be closed for eight weeks.

The A442 through Crudgington and Waters Upton will be closed while resurfacing work, due to start next weekend, is carried out.

The road is the main route linking Telford with the north of the county.

The work is taking place during the summer holidays to try to minimise disruption for Crudgington Primary School.

A diversion will be set up starting at the Hodnet by-pass, so drivers can go down the A53 to Shawbury, and then travel through High Ercall to reach Crudgington via the B5062.

People trying to get through Waters Upton will have access along the A442 but only from the north.

There were major roadworks on the same stretch of road last year.
