Postcard arrives - 43 years late
A postcard has finally arrived at a Shropshire address - 43 years after it was posted.

The saucy postcard was sent from just over the border in Wales in 1961 and addressed to Peter Gough in Bridgnorth from a man called Norman.

Mr Gough, who lived at Grove Crescent, died five years ago.

The Adams family, who now live at the address, told BBC Radio Shropshire they were puzzled as to why the postcard had turned up now.

Richard Adams
The postcard shows a man and a lady standing on a beach with a hankerchief covering their modesty.

On the back it says: "Weather is terrible....having a good time....see you next week."

Richard Adams, 16, spotted how old the card was.

He told BBC Radio Shropshire: "My mum had discarded the card because she thought it had been sent to the wrong address when she saw the name.

"I noticed the stamp and I thought the Queen was looking very young. Then I saw the tuppence-halfpenny price and noticed the post office stamp."

Mr Adams' mother, Suzanne, said she phoned the post office and they had told her it had probably been re-posted somewhere along the line.

"I've asked a lot of neighbours about Mr Gough but they say he doesn't have any family nearby."
