Boy critical after scooter crash
A seven-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after the battery -powered scooter he was riding was hit by a car in Shropshire.

Jack Smith suffered head and leg injuries in the accident in Castlefields Way in Aqueduct, Telford, on Wednesday.

The incident involved a Citroen Xsara and police have appealed for witnesses.

The boy was airlifted to Birmingham Children's Hospital where he is in intensive care.

The road was closed for two hours following the accident while police examined the scene.
