Telford United Football Club is facing a financial crisis after the company which owns it went into receivership. Miras, a building firm based in Hednesford, Staffordshire, is understood to have debts of about 650,000.
Its former chairman Andy Shaw helped to bankroll the 12m redevelopment of Telford's New Bucks Head ground.
The club said it could stay in business until the end of the season, but its future beyond that point was uncertain.
Commercial director Robin Eaves told BBC Midlands Today: "It's going to be very difficult to run this club as it is without somebody coming in and putting some money in, but we'll do our best to keep it going.
"We still want to fulfil Andy Shaw's dreams of league status." Dozens of workers at Miras are expected to lose their jobs as a result of the company's financial problems.
Lee Carter, from Telford United Independent Supporters' Association, said fans need to get behind the club.
"If you came 20 years ago and you haven't been since, come again. If you've never been before, come on Saturday.
"We need to have this stadium full for the rest of the season.. otherwise there's no Telford United - it's as simple as that."
