A Shropshire bus company is to withdraw some of its evening services because of damage caused to vehicles by vandals. Arriva Midlands have been told by their bus drivers they will not continue running the routes between Oswestry, Llangollen and Wrexham.
Criminal damage and vandalism has affected buses on the Oswestry routes.
The Transport and General Workers Union, which represents the bus drivers, says its members will not operate these services in the evenings from Saturday until late January 2004.
Arriva says it will suspend the services for the foreseeable future and after the union action ends next year.
The company says it must put safety first.
It is urging people who have information about the vandalism to contact the police.
