Boy shot with airgun
A 12-year-old boy has been shot with an airgun in Telford.

The boy was walking with a friend along Randlay Avenue on Saturday at 1600 BST when he was shot.

He was taken to Princess Royal Hospital, in Telford, after the pellet narrowly missed his lung.

The boy's mother said she believed her son was deliberately targeted.

Donna Potter told BBC Radio Shropshire her son was shot at close range.

"The two of them heard the noise of the gun being fired and said it sounded very close.

"It was definitely deliberate, it was no accident."

West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses.
