Savings stolen in card scam
Cashline machine
A small device was fitted onto a cashpoint machine
The mother of a Shropshire teenager says he has lost all his savings after money from his account was stolen in a bank card scam.

Police say a device was fitted to the Natwest cashpoint in Bridgnorth High Street which copied data from Chris Kinnsey' cash card.

This allowed someone to withdraw 320 from the 19-year-old's account. His friend had 100 taken.

West Mercia Police are investigating the theft and people are being urged to check their bank accounts.

Mr Kinnsey's mother, Jane, said: "He checked his balance in the morning to see what had happened and there were two withdrawals - one was for 220 and the other was for 100.

"After further inquiries with the bank it turns out these withdrawals were made in Smethwick just before midnight and just after midnight."

She added: "Someone had obviously put this device onto the machine and scampered across to Smethwick to take the money out."
