'Shoplifters' go on display
CCTV camera
Colin Cook has given the CCTV images to other shopkeepers
A Shrewsbury shopkeeper has put up two pictures in his store of people he says have stolen from him.

Colin Cook has placed the photographs by the till of Cookie's, his off licence in Ellesmere Road, Greenfields.

The images were captured on CCTV cameras in the store and Mr Cook says he also has video evidence of other thefts, recorded in the same way.

He has now begun to circulate the pictures to other shops in the town.

Mr Cook told BBC Radio Shropshire that he hopes the measure will act as a deterrent to thieves: "They're very persistent.

"I think that if you don't make them aware of the fact that you know it's going on then, before long, you end up getting swamped because every man and his dog comes down because they think you're easy pickings."
