Vandals attack gravestones

Vandals have attacked a graveyard in Shropshire causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Nine gravestones were pushed over and four were broken at the cemetery in Market Drayton.

Some of the stones damaged date back to1890 and a gravestone, dating back to 1987, will cost �2,000 to replace.

The attack happened at the Cemetery Road crematorium on Friday evening.

The vandals also destroyed floral tributes.

West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses.
