Kevin Ratcliffe resigned from the club last week |
The directors of Shrewsbury Town are to meet this week to discuss the financial implications of the club's relegation from the Football League.
Manager Kevin Ratcliffe resigned from the club last week following its 3-2 defeat by Carlisle.
And Saturday's 2-1 home defeat by Scunthorpe brought an end to Shrewsbury Town's 53 years in the Football League.
The future for many players now looks bleak and one of Shrewsbury's directors, Keith Sayfritz, has admitted there will be a clean out.
Fans' support
He told BBC Radio Shropshire: "Certainly there will be a lot of changes.
"When you've just ended 53 years of league football, obviously you have a duty to the club and to the fans to make sure you build from here, that's all we can do."
Despite knocking Everton out of the FA Cup in January, Shrewsbury failed to reproduce the same kind of form during the remainder of the league season.
Caretaker manager Mark Atkins praised Shrewsbury Town supporters for continuing to back the club despite its relegation.
He said despite the disappointment, the club have gone down to the Conference with pride.
