Princess Diana's wedding dress is Elizabeth Emmanuel's most famous |
An anonymous buyer has paid 150 for an exclusive, designer wedding dress auctioned by a Shropshire charity shop.
The gown, by Princess Diana's wedding dress designer Elizabeth Emmanuel, was put up for sale to the highest bidder by the PDSA in Wellington after it was discovered in a bundle of unwanted items.
A 22-year-old from Telford put forward the highest bid for the dress which has a fitted bodice, no train and flowers on the shoulders.
The shop's assistant manager, Anna Bromley, said the bride-to-be had got the dress for "a snip".
She told BBC Radio Shropshire: "She only paid 150 for it and that's got to be a massive, massive bargain.
"Even with any old wedding dress it's going to cost a lot more than that but for an Elizabeth Emmanuel dress, it's a bargain."
