Warning over road works
Motorists are being warned about essential road works due to be carried out in Herefordshire and Shropshire.

The Highways Agency will be renewing the worn white lines and cats' eyes along the route of the A49 between Bayston Hill, south of Shrewsbury and Wellington, north of Hereford.

The work is scheduled to start on Wednesday.

Dennis Wheeler, a Highways Agency spokesman, said the work would last for a month.

"A rolling programme of work will be carried out over four weeks starting after the bank holiday weekend at the Bayston Hill end and moving south.

"This essential maintenance will be carried out at areas of need only and take place during off peak hours from 0930 BST through to 1530 BST each day.

"The traffic will be controlled by Stop/Go boards at any particular site."
