The controversial subject of animal testing will be debated by scientists and campaigners at the Oxford Union. Lord Robert Winston and Professor Colin Blakemore, chief executive of the British Medical Research Council, will speak in support of testing.
Among those opposing them will be Uri Gellar and Alistair Currie from the British Union of Anti-Vivisectionists.
A demonstration on Saturday was the latest of several marches against animal testing at Oxford University.
The debate on Thursday evening will feature four speakers on each side, with speeches lasting 10 minutes.
