Concert to help tsunami survivors
Musicians from Oxford are playing a concert to raise money for the people affected by the Asian tsunami.

The concert, called Waveaid, is taking place at the Marlborough House pub, on Western Road, on Saturday night.

Musician Barney Pree said: "It felt like a positive thing to do, to get bands together for a good night out and to raise funds for the disaster."

All proceeds will go to the Tsunami Earthquake Appeal and organisers hope to have another gig later this year.

Landlord John Dunkley said: "We are so pleased to have the opportunity to support this concert, and I am sure the local residents will get right behind us in this event.

"We are, as I am sure is everybody else, devastated by the pictures from across parts of Asia and want to play our small part."
