The 14-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital but died of her injuries
Detectives are still hunting a driver three days after a schoolgirl was knocked down by what is thought to have been a stolen car.

Jennifer Koester, 14, was airlifted to hospital but later died of her injuries after the crash in Faringdon, Oxfordshire, on Friday.

The teenager from Standford Road in the town had just got off a bus when she was first hit by a van.

The driver stopped at the scene, but the driver of a blue Honda Civic which then struck the girl, did not.

The car, which police say may have been stolen from North Yorkshire, was discovered soon after in the nearby village of Stanford-in-the-Vale.

The Mercedes Sprinter van hit the girl on the A417 Stanford Road at about 1530 GMT.

Police are urging the car driver to come forward, and want to hear from anyone who may have seen them leaving the vehicle.

Sergeant Dave Milsom from Abingdon said: "We have had a great response from the public with regards to this tragic incident, but we still need to hear from anyone who thinks they may have seen the driver of this car in the Stanford-in-the-Vale area on foot."

The name of the girl, who died in the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, Wiltshire, was expected to be released on Monday.
