An �8.2m project to revamp Nottinghamshire's Trent Bridge cricket ground will be completed on time, officials say. A new stand has been built to replace the West Wing and Parr Stand, and six floodlights have been installed. Club chief executive Derek Brewer, said the ground would be ready for the match against Northants on 4 May. The Fox Road stand, which will boost capacity to 17,000, will be open for the Test against New Zealand in June. All of the grass has been replaced and 500 extra seats have been added. Mr Brewer said: "It's been a very exciting two weeks here with last week's award of the world Twenty20 ... and a momentous day yesterday as the very final floodlight went up. "That was really so important as a milestone for the programme. We're very pleased to say it's all on time and within budget and we're really looking forward to the season. "We have to keep these facilities right at the forefront of world cricket." Funding for the project has come from East Midlands Development Agency and three local authorities - Rushcliffe Borough Council, Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council. Nottinghamshire's first match of the season is away at Kent on Wednesday.
