Chairman agrees deal to buy Stags
Field Mill
The Stags are at the bottom of the Football League
Mansfield Town chairman James Derry has agreed a deal to take control of the club from owner Keith Haslam.

The sale of the League Two strugglers will bring an end to the 14-year reign of former chairman Keith Haslam.

The deal, which has not yet been finalised, comes after months of negotiations between the two men, the BBC has learned.

Mr Derry has been club chairman since January. Mr Haslam bought the Stags for 1 from Abacus Holdings in 1993.

He is expected to continue to own the ground and will act as landlord to the club.

No further details of the deal have been revealed.

The Stags are currently at the foot of the Football League, having won only once so far this season.
