Bullying attack posted on website
A Nottinghamshire schoolboy has been expelled after youths filmed a teenager being beaten up and then posted it on the video sharing website YouTube.

The footage, which is almost three minutes long, shows a teenage boy being beaten to the ground twice, while begging his attacker to stop.

Rushcliffe School confirmed it was investigating the incident and a teenager had been permanently excluded.

Nottinghamshire Police asked the US site to remove the clip.

Whistle blowing policy

Robert Gullis, headteacher of Rushcliffe School, said the school was working with police over the matter.

He said the school learned of the footage through its whistle blowing policy, which allows pupils and parents to raise their concerns about bullying.

"We take all cases of bullying very seriously and we are concerned about this incident.

"But we are looking into it and we will respond appropriately once we finish our investigation. The welfare of all our pupils is a top priority," he added.

Insp Norman England of Nottinghamshire Police said he was "absolutely disgusted by the entry on the website, which is particularly degrading for the victim".
