An anti-bullying charity in Leicester is facing closure if a new source of funding is not found by the end of the year, a spokeswoman said. Leicester's Diversity Hub works with the city's youngsters to battle bullying, prejudice and racism.
The award-winning charity, which opened in 1985, relies on donations to survive.
Spokeswoman Val Carpenter said the project needed 50,000 to remain open after December.
"We primarily do anti-bullying work in schools, but our supporters have said we need to look for mainstream funding. We have been living on our reserves since early this year.
"We are training young people to have the skills and courage to tackle bullying.
"Most young people do not tell an adult they are being bullied - and the internet and mobile phones means it is happening at home as well as at school," Mrs Carpenter said.
The charity has won six straight British Diversity Awards for its work, she said.
