EU money to help fight drug crime
Nottinghamshire police has been awarded almost 350,000 from the European Union to help fight drug crime.

The county's police authority worked with several agencies including groups from Poznan in Poland and Assen in Holland to help secure the bid.

The money will be used to help disrupt drug markets and to pay for an exchange of personnel between cities and an EU-wide conference in Nottingham.

Chief Constable Steve Green said he was delighted with the successful bid.

"Any money that can be used to educate people and combat drugs that can plague our communities is welcomed," he said.

The police authority is now considering submitting a further funding bid for a project to help tackle business crime.
