A rare nocturnal bird is making a welcome return to Nottinghamshire's Sherwood Pines Forest. Last summer, the Forestry Commission said it was worried that nightjar numbers were falling in the forest.
So far this year the numbers are up - to date 18 nesting nightjars have been recorded and there may be more.
One reason is thought to be the dry, warm weather, and a crackdown on people using motorbikes or quadbikes in the parks - which upset the birds.
Paul Barwick, from Sherwood Pines Forest Park, said: "We, together with the police, have had some success in preventing motorbikes and quadbikes driving around in the forest which did cause a great deal of disturbance early on last year and put birds off breeding and they never returned."
