A baby swan has been stoned to death in a Nottingham river, the RSPCA has said. An RSPCA inspector was called out to the River Leen at Meadow Brown Road, Bobbers Mill, on Friday evening.
A member of the public had reported two boys throwing stones at a pair of swans and six cygnets that were on the banks of the river.
The boys are being described as about 10 years old. Anyone with information about the attacks is being urged to contact the RSPCA.
One of the children was dressed in light clothes and a multicoloured top - the other was hiding in the bushes and could not be clearly seen.
