Bike scheme brings safer streets
A scheme to deter youths in part of Nottinghamshire from anti-social behaviour is celebrating helping over 100 people.

The Rev and Go project, based in Cotgrave, aims to teach members about motorbike safety and maintenance.

Organiser Daniel Hegarty says the scheme worked for him and seems to be helping many more too.

He is also competing for a place in the British Superbikes championship at Brands Hatch on Monday.

'Positive attitude'

He said: "It's probably one of the most positive things for kids in the area.

"At first I just wanted to start riding motorbikes but it's slowly developed.

"Lots of kids want to ride and they think the street is the only option.

"We have now had over 100 people through Rev and Go and they have a much more positive attitude to taking their bikes out on the road."
