Dozens of parents and children gathered to protest about plans to close a number of secondary and primary schools in Nottingham. The protesters organised a demonstration on Saturday in Market Square following the city council's proposed reorganisation of education.
Council chiefs claim a falling birth rate has left a number of schools with large numbers of surplus places.
Parents have denied council claims it had "broad support" for the plans.
They will lead to closures and mergers of secondary, primary and special schools.
