Voles protected at new reserves
Five new nature reserves have been established in Nottinghamshire.

The new sites are all close to the River Maun around Mansfield.

The Hermitage, Quarry Lane, Maun Valley Park, Ravensdale and Oak Tree Heath sites were officially opened during National Local Nature Reserve Week.

The sites have been chosen for a specific species, including water voles and breeding birds, and visitors will be given information about the wildlife living there.

Groups will also be set up to look after the reserves as part of the Cleaner Mansfield plan set out by the town's mayor.
