Police use new 'move on' powers
Police officers on the beat
Police officers have powers to move offenders on
Police have been given new powers to clamp down on anti-social behaviour in part of Nottinghamshire.

It follows complaints from residents about vandalism and intimidation caused by groups of youths around the Manor Sports Complex in Mansfield Woodhouse.

Those who refuse to move on from the area will be arrested under a new dispersal order.

Officers will also take photographs of the offenders in a bid to try and identify them.

One resident who did not want to be named said: "You can't go and say 'would you mind not doing that' because then you get more and more abuse.

"People who live round here come home from work at night and they can't just sit and relax because they don't know what's going to happen from one day to the next."
