The order covers an area inside the boundary of Westcott Way, Elizabeth Street and Cottingham Road in Corby.

It means groups of two or more people, who have either caused or are believed likely to harass or distress other people, could be dispersed

The order will be in place from the beginning of May until 30 September.

The first order, which was in place between 1 November 2004 and 1 February this year, resulted in a total of 25 people being dispersed from the town centre, and 192 people were banned from the area for 24 hours.

Of these, six people were arrested for breaching the order.

A police spokesman said: "When we introduced the dispersal order on the town centre in November last year, it had a huge impact.

"Both crime and anti-social behaviour in general decreased.

"However, once the order was lifted, the number of complaints from town centre residents and retailers rose sharply."
