The back room has black walls and jewel-coloured stencilling

Last year the house was restored and attracted over 16,000 visitors from all over the world.

It closed at the end of November so more touches could be added, including a replica wash copper in the kitchen.

The house at 78 Derngate was remodelled by designer and architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1917 for the Bassett-Lowke family.

Before its restoration by the 78 Derngate Northampton Trust, the house was semi-derelict and had been empty for more than 10 years.

The house was Mackintosh's only domestic commission outside Scotland.
