Prostitute is banned from streets
A 23-year-old Kettering woman has been banned from soliciting on any street in England and Wales.

The ban on prostitute Zoe Helsdown, of Mill Road, will last for five years.

The Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) was issued as she was given a year's supervision after admitting a racially aggravated public order offence.

Kettering Magistrates Court heard that Helsdown's abusive and anti-social behaviour had caused a huge problem in the Semilong area of Northampton.

'Huge amount of problems'

The public order offence involved threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour directed at Pc Ron Frater, the community beat officer for Semilong, and two council housing officers.

The ASBO, relating to her working as a prostitute in Northampton, also bans her from entering the area of the Castle Ward which covers Spring Boroughs, Semilong, the Mounts and St James.

Mark McDonnell, the manager for the Northamptonshire Police Caspar project on Spring Boroughs and Semilong, said Helsdown was no longer able to work as a prostitute.

"Helsdown caused a huge amount of problems in the area due to her abusive and anti-social behaviour.

"Hopefully for her, her family and the community's sake this has now ended."
