Biker dies in head-on collision
A motorcyclist has died after he was involved in a head-on collision with a van in North Yorkshire.

The crash happened on the A166 at Grimston Bar, near York, at about 1510 BST on Sunday.

The man, who has not been named, died at the scene and the road was closed for three hours.

A pillion passenger was treated in hospital. The AA has named the A166 as an accident blackspot after 11 fatal or serious crashes since 2002.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about Sunday's accident to come forward.
