Residents in Scarborough are being given the chance to see new coastal defence work. The 34m project is one of the biggest of its kind in Europe.
Work on Marine Drive is part of a 2km scheme designed to safeguard the resort although bad weather has caused delays to the work.
The council claims a wall is vital to protect the 100-year-old Marine Drive but there have been complaints about the removal of Victorian railings.
The local authority claim the scheme will minimise the worst effects of overtopping - where heavy seas can break onto Marine Drive, closing the road, and causing significant damage.
The Council hopes the evening will give people the opportunity to see the project up close for themselves.
