Youngsters warned of rail dangers
Rail tracks
The line is closed to passengers until the end of August
Youngsters are being warned not to play on the railway line between Harrogate and Leeds even though it is closed for engineering work

Network Rail says the line is still being used by special trains taking materials in and out of the Bramhope Tunnel where the work is taking place.

Young people have been spotted playing on the tracks near Pannal station south of Harrogate.

Vandals have caused damage at Horsforth in Leeds where firefighting equipment has been stolen.

Now British Transport Police and Network Rail will be increasing patrols in an attempt to catch anyone playing on the tracks.

Harrogate to Leeds rail services are being replaced with buses until the end of the month while 10m is spent on upgrading the Bramhope Tunnel.

New tracks are being put in and work is taking place to cure drainage problems.
