Water supplies clear of parasite
Tap and kettle
The boil water notice continued in place for over a week
More than 6,000 households in Norfolk have been told they can drink tap water without having to boil it first.

Parasite cryptosporidium was suspected to have entered supplies to market town North Walsham and some nearby villages.

The bug that can cause diarrhoea may have entered the drinking water supply to the town and nearby Felmingham.

Water company Anglian Water is giving 25 compensation to all the households affected as they had to boil their drinking water for more than a week.

The company said it had flushed out pipes and water towers supplying the households and tests show that cryptosporidium was no longer a threat.
