Road improvements cut casualties
A scheme to improve safety for pedestrians and motorists on a busy Norfolk road has led to an 80% fall in casualties, a county council reveals.

The 1.25m improvement scheme to Prince of Wales Road in Norwich included installing traffic lights which change to red when vehicles exceed 20mph.

In addition, pavements were widened, CCTV installed and lighting improved.

The council said casualty numbers had fallen from an average 20.5 per year to just four in the last 12 months.
