Jim Davidson leaving the court in Norwich on Wednesday |
A woman who says she was injured at Wellington Pier in Great Yarmouth is suing the former leaseholder - entertainer Jim Davidson.
The woman claims that after visiting the pier's Wellington Theatre, she slipped on grass growing between uneven paving stones and landed on her back.
Court documents claim she has been certified unfit to work after sustaining a fracture on that day.
She alleges Mr Davidson did not do enough to ensure visitor safety.
The former Generation Game host denies the claim.
Davidson no longer leases the Wellington Pier and theatre |
Jim Davidson took over operation of the Wellington Pier in 1996.
The comedian signed a 99-year-lease, but in 2002, he gave it up.
He told BBC Look East: "They're very expensive things, those piers.
"It cost me an absolute wallet-emptying fortune to try and do that up."
Mr Davidson appeared at a court hearing in Norwich on Wednesday, and proceedings were adjourned.
