The charity aims to reduce the number of runaway children
An overnight sleep-over at a Cheshire park aims to stop children running away from home.

The "Big Sleep Out" in Victoria Park in Warrington has been organised by the charity Talk Don't Walk who deal with runaway children and their families.

People are asked to spend Saturday night in the park and experience what life would like living on the streets.

More than 100,000 children run away or go missing from home and care every year, the charity said.

Since the award-winning project Talk...Don't Walk started in 2004, the number of runaways in Warrington had been reduced by 76%, it claimed.

Anyone wishing to take part in the park sleep-over has been asked to bring waterproof clothing, a sleeping bag, a torch. Organisers added that a sense of humour would also help.
