City celebrations get royal boost
St George's Hall
St George's Hall will be officially re-opened by Prince Charles
Prince Charles is to take part in Liverpool's 800th birthday celebrations later this month.

He will spend St George's Day in the city for a full programme of events.

The Prince of Wales will officially re-open St George's Hall following a �23m refurbishment. He will then deliver a lecture at the hall.

He is also scheduled to visit Toxteth Town Hall to watch a special performance by schoolchildren to mark the national saint's day.

Liverpool John Moores University will bestow an honorary fellowship on the prince during his time in the city.

He will end his visit by attending a special thanksgiving service at Liverpool Cathedral celebrating the city's 800th birthday.
