City music festival 'best ever' |  More than 75 bands have played at the four-day festival in Liverpool | Liverpool city centre's Mathew Street Festival was the most successful ever, according to organisers. Liverpool Culture Company say hundreds of thousands of revellers packed into the city for the festival which took place over the bank holiday weekend. More than 75 bands performed over the four-day extravaganza which attracted tourists from across the globe. Gerry and the Pacemakers, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Lightning Seeds were among the line-up.
