Beatles tourists contribute about 20m to the city's tourism economy |
Tourists in Liverpool can now get a free guide to all The Beatles' attractions in the city. The Liverpool Culture Company's Home of The Beatles map will show fans how the Fab Four lived before Beatlemania.
The guide is the first to contain all of the related attractions including the Cavern Club, The Beatles Story museum and Magical Mystery Tour.
It will also feature what it is claimed is the world's first Beatles-themed hotel, due to open next year.
The 10-bedroomed Hard Day's Night hotel will connect directly to the Cavern Club and will take guests chronologically via four floors through the Beatles' career.
'Invaluable'
About 600,000 Beatles-related visitors generate 20m towards Liverpool's tourism economy every year and interest is expected to soar in 2008, which is the European Capital of Culture year.
The guide details improvements to the city's attractions, including new language audio tours at The Beatles Story, a 24-hour licence for the Cavern Club and a new venue for the Beatles Festival concerts.
Keith Blundell, of the Liverpool Culture Company, said: "The Beatles are one of the most fascinating aspects of Liverpool's culture and musical heritage.
"This interactive guide provides new and illuminating insights into the lives of John, Paul, George and Ringo.
"It will be invaluable to any fan."
