Lennon art displayed in village
John Lennon and Yoko Ono
The collection has never been seen by the public
A collection of John Lennon's art is going on display in a Cheshire village.

Called "Imagine", it includes 12 images from Yoko Ono's private collection and images never before viewed in public.

Chelford near Knutsford will be its last stop in Britain before returning to New York, where the collection will remain.

The exhibition depicts Lennon's emotional and philosophical moments like his wedding to Yoko, their honeymoon and his world peace appeal.

Although Lennon is renowned for his music, he actually began drawing long before playing a guitar.

He originally attended Liverpool Art School before The Beatles became a full time occupation.

In his own words: "art came first".

Each of the editions on sale is limited to 300 worldwide and is signed by Yoko Ono with John's personal chop mark.

The works from Yoko Ono's private collection are not for sale.
