Workers formed a picket line outside the Merseyrail offices |
Rail services in Merseyside suffered disruption on Friday as guards in the RMT union went on strike. Drivers at Birkenhead also refused to work, causing services on the Wirral line to be suspended. Replacement bus services were put on.
Managers at Merseyrail say on all other routes, a Sunday service was in operation, with trains every half-hour.
A strike planned for the Grand National weekend will go ahead unless agreement is reached on new hours and conditions.
