Manchester United footballer Wayne Rooney has been found guilty of failing to produce driving documents. The 18-year-old striker was driving a BMW X5 in Liverpool when he was pulled over by police on 6 May.
He was told to produce his driving licence and insurance certificate at a police station, but failed to do so.
He was due to appear at Liverpool magistrates but did not turn up. He was found guilty in his absence and is due to reappear on 4 October.
Paul Stretford, Rooney's agent, declined to comment.
