A Merseyside scrap metal business has won Royal recognition. S Norton and Company, on Regent Road, Bootle, has won the Queen's Award for Enterprise in recognition of its outstanding growth in exports.
The family-run firm, founded more than 40 years ago, has five sites - four in Liverpool and one in Manchester.
The award was formally presented to managing director John Norton by the Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside Alan Waterworth on Saturday.

Two of its sites house large metal shredders capable of crushing a car in just a few seconds.
The firm processes and ships more than 1,000,000 tons a year - mainly iron and steel scrap.
In the three years to 2002, its export business increased by �23m a year - up more than 50%.
It also expanded its UK operations, investing �20m in new facilities and doubling the workforce.
