Former Capital of Culture leaders are visiting Liverpool later to take part in a seminar for cities that have won the prestigious title. They will also share expert advice and crucial information with Liverpool, Europe's Capital of Culture 2008.
Executives from Stockholm, Helsinki, Graz, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Antwerp and Rotterdam were all in charge of their cities' Capital of Culture celebrations.
They are in Liverpool to explain how they put together their artistic and cultural programme for the year, highlighting the successes and pitfalls.
Culture chairman Sir Bob Scott said: "To have so many people with so many skills and experience of hosting Capital of Culture celebrations is unique.
'Invaluable advice'
"Never before has such a skill-sharing and fact-finding event been staged.
"We are thrilled that these other cities have come to Liverpool to share their experiences and help put our preparations on the right track."
City council chief executive David Henshaw added: "The massive economic boost that Capital of Culture will bring to the city was one of the main reasons why Liverpool won the bid.
"I will be interested to hear from other cities how they maximised the number of jobs, the investment and economic benefits."
