Tagg believed she could win's Dodd's affections |
A stalker who sent Ken Dodd's partner a dead rat and set the funnyman's house on fire must stay in hospital for further psychiatric tests, a judge has ordered. Ruth Tagg, 35, from Bedminster, Bristol, bombarded Dodd with letters, cards and indecent photographs, all of which were opened by his long-term partner Anne Jones.
As well as the rat, Tagg sent Ms Jones offensive t-shirts because she was said to have regarded her as a love rival.
At a hearing at Manchester Crown Court on Monday, Mr Justice Michael Morland extended an interim hospital order on Tagg.
Burning rags
Tagg sent the items between July 2001 and May 2002, during which time she also attended the 75-year-old entertainer's performances.
In October 2001, Tagg pushed burning rags through the letterbox of Dodd's Liverpool home, causing damage put at 11,000.
No-one was at home at the time.
On 4 March, Tagg pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court to arson and harassment.
Sentencing was adjourned until 21 November to take place at Nottingham Crown Court.
