Murder inquiry after 'fire death'

The death of a woman whose body was found at a house in Greater Manchester following an apparent house fire is being treated as murder by police.

Officers were called to the house on St Simon Street, Blackfriars in Salford, at about 1235 GMT on Friday following a report that the body had been found.

A murder investigation has been started and the house has been sealed off.

Emergency crews discovered that the victim's body had been badly burnt, police said.
